Love

I've a very solid reason for believing that u can never separate selfishness from love. I was wondering what makes people love each other. Let's just ask ourselves a few questions and the answers will automatically tell you why I believe so.

I'm a boy, so I'll tell the story from the viewpont of a boy. When a boy loves a gal, the first thing that he would do is to tell the gal that he loves her. Now why did the boy have to do that? Normally when somebody loves someone, he would like to keep listening to what the gal says, he would like to see her all the time, he would like to be with her all the time. Coz that makes him happy. So here is the reason why the guy proposed the gal. Coz he want to be happy. It's not about the gal's happiness. It's his own happiness that he's looking out for.
That was a very general scenario n u may argue by coming up with different scenarios. I don't claim that selfishness is the motive behind every love affair wen they started out. There obviously are scenarios in which the selfishness part of love is very less. But for all the thousands of scenarios that u might come up with, I can always find a hint of selfishness in the nature of that love

One very interesting point comes here. U may claim that sometimes at extreme degree of love, people sacrifice everything for their love one. People are ready even to lose their love if that would make their love one happy. Now why does someone do that? Because her happiness is also his happiness. He's happy if she is happy. So ultimately who is happy? U may call that satisfaction. Outwardly he might be showing all signs of sadness, loss etc. But the core of his heart is happy that he can do something that made his love happy. It's somewhat like getting pleasure out of pain. So u see what I mean. Even in such cases, he's being selfing a rather ambiguous way.

So it seems like selfishness is the very essence of love.
All the best being selfish!!
